The DGC Library (here at the Davis Senior Center) is open to the public from 1:00-4:00 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays. Assistance is available for using the materials in our library such as books, indexes, computers, CDs. There is no charge to anyone for using the library in person. We offer a warm invitation to you to visit us!
LIBRARY HOURS: Wednesday and Friday, 1:00-4:00; Mondays by appointment (email the
to arrange a time).
Holdings: Our library contains books which have been donated over the years by members and friends. The resources range from very general "how-to" books to very specific rare books and one-of-a-kind original documents and photos. The subjects covered are those which were of interest to the people who donated the material. Since most families in California moved here, the research areas include the stopping-off states of the Midwest and East as well as early California. This library is particularly rich in New England genealogy resources because of the donation of the extensive holdings of Warren Westgate.
On this website, we have indexed the complete holdings for this library in sections:
||DGC Library Holdings of books about specific families (Dewey Decimal #s 929...)
|State Resources (PDF)
||DGC Library Holdings pertaining to particular U.S. States (various Dewey Decimal #s from 974 thru 979). Note: Other Dewey Decimal numbers may also contain state information, so check other sections also.
|Other Resource Books (PDF)
||DGC Library Holdings of other Genealogical Resource Books listed by title.
NOTE: If you can't come in to the Library yourself, and would like to request a look-up in up to four of our books, please print out our on-line Research Request Form and mail it (with payment) to us. One of our volunteers might be able to help you.
