SUMMARY:Genealogy Journey - California to Ireland by Terry Dunlap
DESCRIPTION:I will trace my discovery path used to research my Irish great grandparents from Longford County. I will review fundamental genealogy research methods used along the way. My starting point was knowing practically nothing about my immigrant great-grandparents and their story. The current end point status is that I know the pertinent townlands. In 2025\, I met my 2C1R in the county of Longford\, and visited my ancestor’s childhood home. \n\n\n\n\n\nI am a 3rd generation Californian\, serving as my family’s genealogy sleuth. I have been investigating my family history\, concentrating on the generation of immigration for a while now. The pandemic shut down provided the time to review everything that I had gathered over the years.
