Genealogical Resources at the Center for Sacramento History by Kim Hayden

March 18, 2025 @ 1:00 pm

Come learn more about the Center for Sacramento History, its genealogical resources, and how to conduct research there. As the official historical archives for both the city and county, the Center holds government records and private collections dating back to 1849–data particularly useful to genealogists. Among them, naturalization records, probate records, court case files, property records, coroner and cemetery records, and city and regional directories. Refreshments served following the meeting. Contact President@DavisGenealogy.org to request a guest Zoom pass.

Kim Hayden is the senior archivist at the Center for Sacramento History, where she handles many tasks as well as serves as the committee chair for the annual Sacramento Archives Crawl. Previously, Kim worked at the Computer History Museum, and for Stanford University Libraries, using her master’s degree in library and information science.

Club Membership is just $15 per year and guests are always welcome.  We are open to searchers at all levels of research experience. Come to a meeting to sign up, or join online through our website below.

The Genealogy Library at the Davis Senior Center is open to the public on Wed. 1-3:30 PM, and Fri. from 11:30 AM to 2 PM, as well as the hour before our monthly meeting. Come visit our volunteers and work on your family tree. You may find a clue that helps break down that brick wall or find an ancestor in our book collection!
