General Meeting & Presentation: “The 2022 Toolbox for the Modern Genealogist” by James M. Baker, PhD, CG
September 20 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
All are invited as the Davis Genealogy Club proudly presents a favorite returning speaker, James Baker, PhD, CG, for a long-awaited hybrid meeting on September 20th from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. “The 2022 Toolbox for the Modern Genealogist” is ideal for all researchers as Baker explores the most essential tools required for today’s genealogist. These include: hardware; software; large search engines; specialty sites and collections; offline data; the “data finding” sites; key DNA tools; and genealogy learning tools.
For 20 years, Baker has been an active genealogist. He’s spoken locally and nationally on German Genealogy, Midwest US, early American research, and DNA. He’s written for the NGS and “Der Blumenbaum”, the journal of the Sacramento German Genealogy Society. Baker earned a PhD in sociology and social psychology and became a Board-Certified Genealogist in 2011. Retired from an aerospace and business management career, Jim’s favorite job was the piano-man at Shakey’s Pizza Parlor!
