Topic Talk: Naming Conventions

A Rose by any other name…  What and why to give a person a particular first name?  How did someone ever get that last name?  Why even have middle names?  Conventions prevalent in days of yore…up to now.  Meanings, patterns, CLUES?  Nationality, ethnicity, grandparents’ names, birth order?  What conclusions can be drawn, is there a rhyme or reason?  We will rise to the challenge, but declare we ROSE.
