What Happened to Uncle Walter?

Virtual presentation: “What Happened to Uncle Walter? Evidence Analysis and Correlation Uncover a Man’s Dual Identities” by Sharon Hoyt, CG. Walter’s family lost touch with him after he disappeared from San Diego in 1920. We’ll learn how collaboration; evidence correlation using records and photos; and predictive research solved the century-old mystery of Walter’s fate.
Certified Genealogist Sharon Hoyt, is a genealogy researcher, speaker, and writer who enjoys researching intriguing stories and brick wall cases. She has spoken at local, regional, state, and national events, and has taught in the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy and the Board for Certification’s “Putting Skills to Work” workshop. Her research has won Family History writing contests sponsored by the National Genealogical Society and the Minnesota Historical Society, and has been published in the National Genealogical Society Quarterly, The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record, and Minnesota Genealogist. Sharon holds a master’s degree in Library and Information Science.

The Club’s Genealogy Library in the Davis Senior Center is home to over 1,300 volumes and is open to the public on Wednesdays from 1 – 3:30 p.m. as well as Noon to 1:00 pm before our monthly meetings and afterwards until 4:00 pm that day.
