DGC Book Club – The Lost Ancestor by Nathan Dylan Goodwin (2014)
October 27 @ 12:30 pm
As requested for the DGC Book Club, we’re continuing the Summer 2023 “Book Club”. This pick is the second in the Morton Farrier genealogical mystery series, also as requested by the attendees of July’s Book Club meeting. BUT you don’t have to have read the first to enjoy this book and join us for a discussion of it! The book works as a stand-alone read, too.

When Morton, forensic genealogist, is called upon to investigate a 1911 disappearance of his client’s great aunt, a housemaid working in a large Edwardian country house, he has no idea of the perilous journey into the past coming his way. He must use his not inconsiderable genealogical skills to solve the mystery of Mary Mercer’s disappearance, in the face of the dangers posed by those others who are determined to end his investigation at any cost.

Event details: From 12:30-1:00, members may join a pre-discussion brown bag lunch at the Senior Center. At 1:00, we will begin our Book Club discussion. Please check the door of Davis Genealogy Research Library that day for information on the location for either or both segments of this day’s events.
